Eight teams played 12 games over three days—and Cal claims the ultimate championship prize
Eight teams and eight head coaches converged on the Anaheim Convention Center floor with the Anaheim Classic title in their sights. But if you polled all eight coaches, you might get eight different responses as to what each coach might be looking for in their teams as they prepare for the 2012-2013 season. And while coaches might still be tweaking lineups and game plans, Cal can rest easy, at least tonight, with this year’s title in hand. Led by Allen Crabbe (24 points) and Justin Cobbs (20), the Golden Bears improved to 6-0 with an impressive win over Pacific to capture the 2012 Anaheim Classic title. Ross Rivera scored 13 points for Pacific (3-3), which shot 34.4 percent and went 3 of 17 from 3-point range. This championship game sets the tone for next November.
